Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Pay Range: $16.00-18.00 hourly

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative and office support activities in the Human Resources department. Duties may include recruiting, creating marketing material, fielding telephone calls, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing. Software skills and strong communication skills are required.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records (digital and paper).
  • Assist the HR Director and HR Department with administrative tasks, audits, reports, and special projects.
  • Support HR team members during absences or high-volume periods.
  • Facilitate or assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with company policies and employment laws through meticulous documentation.
  • Participate in digitizing personnel files and improving HR systems and processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating company social media pages (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook) with HR-related content.
  • Help create flyers, job postings, and basic marketing materials for recruitment efforts and HR initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass routine background checks.

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to meet the minimum requirements of the insurance carrier at all times.

Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years previous Human Resources administrative/clerical experience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and/or basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express), preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS or document management systems, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment law preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs and other related software
  • Familiarity with Canva
  • Ability to create marketing material for recruiting and programming.
  • Familiarity with Kronos software is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic math skills

Physical Requirements:

To accomplish the essential functions of the position, one must be physically able to operate or work with computers, calculators, reference books, computer software applications, phones, and other standard office equipment. The physical activities of the position include talking, reaching, grasping, light lifting, bending, squatting, and other repetitive motions.

  • Work is considered sedentary and performed mainly in a pleasant office environment with rare exposure to environmental
