For the Ardena Business Unit based in Somerset (US), we are looking for a Proposal Writer.

 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

YOUR ROLE

The Proposal Lead works closely with Business Development (Sales), Project Management and Operations and owns the process for the scoping, pricing, generation, and review of Proposals for new business. The Proposal Lead may also be required to liaise with Senior Leadership to discuss and/or gain approval on specific Quotations / proposals prior to issue to the client. Operates independently as a Proposal Lead for Quotations / proposals managed, and as part of a global team to support cross-functional Quotations / proposals and team / business initiatives.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support internal Proposal process and liaises with Project Management, BD Representatives, Operations, and Management/Key Stakeholders on the generation of, and pricing for, Quotations/proposals.
• Facilitates communication between functional areas of the organization (i.e. Sales, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, etc.) to ensure on-time delivery of Quotations/proposals that are accurate and executable in terms of technical scope and meet costing/business margin targets.
• Works with Operational departments to ensure specific technical input for Development and Analytical Services work. Works with Sales, Operations, and Finance to produce optimal value pricing solutions.
• Communicates directly with client contacts and will participate in client meetings, as needed to support the Proposal / Sales process.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives to reduce cost and improve service levels, for both internal and external clients, and to support business objectives.

YOUR PROFILE 

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration or relevant discipline with 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry. Experience in contract manufacturing is a plus.
• Client-related experience and excellent client facing skills - drives to meet, and indeed exceed, client expectations.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills are required; Good problem-solving skills and strong mathematical abilities / finance skills.
• Soft skills that align with our CARE values- Communicative, Accountable, Reliable, and Excellent.
• Individual may be required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.
