Full-Time In-Office Monday-Friday

An established, highly respected civil engineering and land surveying firm in the St. Louis metro area is seeking an experienced Survey Technician specializing in construction layout calculations . This role is ideal for a detail-driven technician with hands-on experience interpreting construction documents and generating accurate layout data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Calculate construction layout points and offsets for grading, pavement, utilities (sanitary, storm, water), and structural elements

• Generate as-built survey documentation for completed construction components

• Interpret architectural, structural, and civil construction plans

• Ensure layout data meets local and agency-specific standards

• Work directly with the Survey Coordinator, contractors, and construction superintendents to support field layout teams

• Manage digital files and process data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Minimum 5 years of combined experience in construction layout and/or survey calculations

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (TBC)

• Solid understanding of construction layout practices and local layout standards

• Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and structural plans

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word

• Prior field survey experience

• Experience working with multiple contractors or large-scale development projects
