About this Role
Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I (Supervisory) oversees the Examination and Certification Online System (ECOS) Consultation Team. The incumbent and their team provide technical guidance to departments and other Selections Division (SD) teams. The incumbent works cooperatively with the ECOS Business Team and other SD teams to provide customer service to Departmental HR Programs and End Users throughout California.

Special Requirements

All interested applicants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). Please provide direct responses to each of the numbered items listed below. Applicants must number and include the full text of the SOQ items in their response. Please include specific examples of your education, training, and/or experience. SOQs should be limited to a maximum of two (2) pages, single-spaced, twelve-point Arial font.

1. Describe your knowledge of and specific experience using the Examination and Certification Online System (ECOS). Please specify the tasks you completed in the system and how your tasks fit within the State Civil Service Selection process.

2. Describe your experience providing technical guidance and consultation related to examinations and various selection strategies including the interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations within the selection field. Please specify the situation(s), what you did, and the result(s).
