Léon 1909 is a high-end French & Italian countryside restaurant located on beautiful Shelter Island in the Hamptons . We are known for our refined cuisine, curated wine program, and elevated guest experiences in an intimate, polished setting.
We are seeking an experienced full-time Sommelier / Wine Steward to join our team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with expertise in fine dining and wine service who excels at creating memorable guest experiences.
What We Offer

$1,300/week average (off-season)
$1,700–$2,000/week average (summer)

Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
About You (Ideal Candidate)
Previous fine dining, upscale casual, or Michelin-star restaurant experience required
Expertise in wine pairings, beverage trends, and guest-focused service
Skilled at:
Inventory & wine list management
Staff training & motivation
Scheduling & small team leadership (under 5 staff)
Excellent communication & guest-first approach
Calm, reliable, and professional under pressure
Positive, respectful, and polished demeanor

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward, or upscale bar professional
Fluent in English
