About the Role:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you'll play a vital role in supporting our clinical staff and providing exceptional patient care. You'll perform a variety of duties, including radiologic procedures, patient intake, lab testing, and some clerical tasks. This role offers the chance to directly impact the health and well-being of children in our community.
What You'll Do:
Create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and their families, acting as a patient advocate.
Independently problem-solve and utilize available resources to obtain patient information, even when communication is challenging.
Work as a valued member of a cross-functional team, contributing to various aspects of patient care, including radiology, intake, lab testing, and clerical duties (cleaning/disinfecting exam rooms, scanning, indexing).
Translate provider orders into appropriate x-ray procedures.
Prepare and position patients accurately for each radiologic examination, assisting clinicians as needed.
Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs, adhering to ALARA principles.
Select, identify, and expose films for digital viewing.
Utilize the radiology PACS system for data entry and technical factor documentation.
Participate in various patient care activities, including taking vital signs, performing blood draws, assisting with procedures, and using standard equipment.
Perform patient intake and enter data into the EMR, adhering to established standards.
Prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Perform various laboratory tests, daily controls, and other lab duties as needed, including drug screens.
Gather accurate patient information for records and assist with insurance/compensation/disability forms.
Work under the supervision of clinicians, the practice manager, and registered nurses to provide outstanding patient service.
Support Patient Service Representatives with patient registration as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including exam rooms, and ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies.
Ensure appropriate patient follow-up regarding prescriptions, referrals, and testing.
Contribute to patient care through education and resource distribution.
Comply with quality assurance, HIPAA, customer service, infection control, and safety guidelines.
Interact respectfully and professionally with staff and refer patients to appropriate resources.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Ensure the cleanliness of the office and clinical environment.
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
What You'll Bring:
Valid LMRT license in Florida.
Experience in patient intake preferred.
