A leading healthcare facility in New Jersey is currently seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join their surgical team for night shift coverage. This is a locum tenens opportunity offering flexibility and long-term assignment potential.

About the Opportunity:

• Hybrid or Remote: On-site only
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: Prefer 2-3 shifts per week; weekends
• Setting: Inpatient, surgical unit
• Duration: Estimated 10-12 month assignment
• On-Call: None
• First Assist: Not required
• Patient Load: 40-50 patients per night with 2 APPs on higher volume days
• Additional Info: Local candidates strongly preferred; expedited credentialing possible

Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant will be responsible for:

• Managing inpatient surgical floor patients
• Providing post-operative care and consultations
• Performing wound care, including VAC dressings
• Managing JP drains and NGTs
• Managing chest tubes
• Performing vascular monitoring using Doppler for skin flap patients

Qualifications:

• • 2+ years of inpatient surgical APP experience strongly preferred
  • Master's degree (NP or PA)
  • Current NJ license (Required)
  • Active DEA and CDS (Required)

Experience with:

• VAC dressing application and management
• Chest tube and drain management
• Doppler usage for vascular monitoring
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced inpatient setting
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience in general surgery or surgical sub-specialties
• Comfortable managing higher patient volumes during heavy census periods
• Familiarity with inpatient EMR systems
