As a multimedia producer, you must be passionate about local news and delivering exceptional television broadcast, digital, and streaming programming to the market. What You’ll Do
Production Leadership: Responsible for daily production activities for assigned newscasts and multimedia projects, from facilitating the news gathering process to editorial decisions and post-production.
Content Creation: Develop authentic segments, write compelling stories, build rundowns, and edit scripts for various media formats.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with executive producers, other producers, writers, anchors, reporters, and control room staff to ensure technically seamless multimedia newscasts.
Visual Coordination: Collaborate with assignment desk and field crews to coordinate live shots, assignments, and provide graphics, video, and logistical support.
Digital Integration: Log and edit video for inclusion on scripts and coordinate with web/social teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of all news stories online and on-air.
Active Participation: Actively participate in daily editorial, department, and production meetings.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, reporting to the Executive Producer.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in a medium-to-large television market.
Skills: Strong news judgment, solid writing skills, captivating storytelling skills, and knowledge of current events.
Organizational Excellence: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, working under tight deadlines.
Problem-Solving: Keen critical thinking skills and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate problems, articulate solutions, and provide clear directions.
Creativity: Must be able to think out of the box and find new ways to present information.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, consistently displaying a professional demeanor with the ability to stay cool under pressure and handle strong personalities.
Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news.
