**This position is 100% travel - Candidates can be based anywhere in the US.** **Experience as a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic** **Established Solar Tracking installation company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic that is able to travel and repair heavy equipment in the Field on large scale ground mount solar sites throughout the US.** This is long term position All travel cost are prepaid (Hotel, Airfare, rental truck) Pay ranging from $40-50/hr depending on experience + daily per diem **Description** + Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment. + Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. + Complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance of Truss Drivers and applicable support equipment + Complete on-site metal fabrication as needed + Provide support to customer mechanics, as needed + Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. + Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. + Record repairs and maintenance performed. + Repair and replace damaged or worn parts. + Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. + Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles. + Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. + Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. + Work with Machine Development, Product Development, and Field Applications Engineering teams to integrate feedback into product improvements + Recognize and report safety concerns promptly + Constantly learn and improve personal skillsets + Document equipment issues and repairs such as hours, parts used, travel. **Job Qualifications:** + Up to 5 years Heavy Machinery or similar; drill rigs a plus + Previous experience troubleshooting skills in the areas of hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical systems + Experience with controls (encoders, CANBUS, linear transducers, PLC, etc.) + Heavy equipment diagnostics (CAT, Cummins) + Welding and fabrication + Excellent judgement and able to make responsible decisions + Ability to work independently without constant direction + Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences both internally and externally + This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license and provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's license upon being hired. Key words: Diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, field mechanic, PD10, Hydraulics repairs, post pounders. drill rigs, drilling platforms. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
