University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: Academic Center: School of Arts & Sciences: Arthur Satz Dept of Music **Salary Range or Pay Grade** 6,000 **Description** The University of Rochester's Arthur Satz Department of Music seeks to hire an outstanding candidate in the field of chamber music to direct our Chamber Ensembles Program (MUSC 155) for the 2025-2026 academic year. MUSC 155 is a one credit course in which students work independently in small ensembles to choose repertoire and practice weekly for a concert at the end of the semester. The Director of the program will create a syllabus, organize sign-ups/auditions, sort students into groups, help determine repertoire, work with students to develop practice schedules and concert goals, work with music department administrators to determine concert schedules, set up coaching opportunities, and check in regularly with students to ensure that they're making progress. Candidates should have previous experience directing chamber ensembles. Classes begin on August 25 th , 2025 and end on May 1 st , 2026.
