Overview

• Department: Cardiology

• Schedule: Part Time, Day Shift 

• Facility: Prime Healthcare St Joseph Medical Center

• Location: Joliet, IL 60435

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms using advanced cardiac ultrasound technology.
• Utilize Doppler, M-mode, 2D/3D echocardiography following ASE guidelines to capture accurate cardiac images.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient care and timely diagnostic reporting.
• Operate PACS, EMR, and digital imaging systems for image management and report generation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, OSHA, The Joint Commission, and IDPH standards.
• Provide patient-centered care, education, and clear communication during procedures.
• Participate in on-call coverage, emergency echo services, and portable imaging.
• Support quality assurance (QA), workflow optimization, and protocol updates.
• Maintain current knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathology, and imaging protocols.
• Preferred skills in vascular ultrasound and carotid duplex imaging.
• Uphold Prime Healthcare service excellence and patient care standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.  High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

2.  Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.

3.  EKG rhythm analysis / interpretation certificate or equivalent preferred.

4.  Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current required.

5.  Able to assist physician with TEE testing preferred.

6   Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.

7.  Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.

8   Registered Echocardiographer preferred.

9.  ARDMS or CCI credential required

10. Able to perform stress testing preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for thisrole, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $33.19 to $48.07. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
